Gira DCS camera gateway

Integrating analogue cameras into the Gira door communication system.

The Gira DCS-​camera gate­way in­teg­rates an ex­ternal ana­logue cam­era into the Gira door com­mu­nic­a­tion sys­tem via the 2-​wire bus and the video con­trol device. Door sta­tions can thus be equipped with video func­tion­al­ity even at a later date without re­quir­ing com­plex in­stall­a­tion. Sev­eral DCS-​camera gate­ways can be op­er­ated in series or wired in a star con­fig­ur­a­tion.

This en­ables the user to have sev­eral freely se­lect­able areas in view with a single home sta­tion, for ex­ample the court­yard en­trance, back door or the front view of the en­trance area. In this way, the Gira DCS-​camera gate­way makes door com­mu­nic­a­tion more con­veni­ent while sim­ul­tan­eously in­creas­ing se­cur­ity within your home.

Operation

The Gira DCS-​camera gate­way can be op­er­ated with or without an as­signed door sta­tion. If a door sta­tion is as­signed to the ex­ternal cam­era, the door call auto­mat­ic­ally ac­tiv­ates the cam­era. For op­er­a­tion without a door sta­tion, the cam­era image can be switched on manu­ally using the home sta­tion. An ad­apter line is in­cluded for cam­eras with BNC con­nec­tion.

Use of several cameras

In the past, a max­imum of three cam­eras could be con­nec­ted per door sta­tion, how­ever more than three cam­eras can now be con­nec­ted to one door sta­tion by using sev­eral DCS-​camera gate­ways.

Installation

The Gira DCS-​camera gate­way can be in­stalled surface-​mounted, flush-​mounted or on a top-​hat rail using the provided DRA ad­apter provided. The con­nec­tion of cam­era and gate­way is via a BNC plug con­nec­tion, and com­mu­nic­a­tion via FBAS. The door sta­tion is as­signed simply by press­ing a but­ton. The gate­way fea­tures a micro but­ton and con­trol LED for this pur­pose.
