Convenient operation of basic functions in the KNX system

The Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis enables convenient control of the most important basic functions of intelligent building technology: switching, dimming, blind control, and encoder and scene auxiliary unit functions. And in the process, its operation adapts to the occupants’ needs: if functions ever change, the button assignment can be easily reprogrammed. The number of functions that can be saved depends on the number of buttons.

Each button has two red LEDs for status display and can be operated on the left, right and centrally, depending on the setting and version. To ensure a clear functional overview, each button can be inscribed individually. In all transparent rocker sets, the inscription space features discreet backlighting, meaning that the pushbutton sensor 3 Basis is also easy to operate in the dark.

Huge design diversity

A wide range of design options, customised for the various Gira design lines, are available for the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis: versions can be obtained to match the Gira design lines from System 55, Gira E22 and Gira Stainless Steel, as well as the Gira F100. And there is a choice of two colours for the Gira F100: cream white glossy or pure white glossy. The versions for the other design lines include operating buttons, which are available with edges either in cream white, pure white, anthracite, or colour aluminium, or in the real materials aluminium or stainless steel. In addition, full-surface versions in stainless steel, aluminium, brass and bronze can be selected and provided with a special laser inscription.


Central operation of several functions

The pushbutton sensor 3 Basis enables several functions to be operated centrally at the same time. It is available in versions with up to 3 switches, meaning that several devices and settings can be controlled using a single pushbutton sensor. Blinds, lighting, room scenes – everything can be accessed quickly and easily.


Everything under control with the central 1-way switch

Thanks to the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis, worrying about devices accidentally left on is a thing of the past. When it is programmed as a central 1-way switch, all previously selected devices can be switched off at the touch of a button, e.g. individual lights, lighting rails and entire circuits. That way, you can rest assured that everything really is off when you leave the house. The central 1-way switch is particularly practical in the hallway next to the front door, for example.


Increased security with panic button function

In dangerous situations, the versatile pushbutton sensor 3 Basis proves to be a reliable assistant. When programmed as a panic button and positioned next to the bed, for example, it is always within reach if suspicious noises wake you up at night. Simply press it briefly, and your house and garden will be flooded with a bright deterrent light. In most cases, this trick causes intruders to flee in panic.


Individual inscription service

An inscription can be customised and ordered online for selected Gira products in just a few steps at www.beschriftung.gira.de/en/. In this way, the buttons of the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis can also be conveniently inscribed with various text. For versions in thermoplastic, inscriptions are printed onto transparent inscription labels. These can be personally designed with ease and ordered directly online with just a few clicks at www.beschriftung.gira.de/en/. Customers then receive their printed plastic labels by post. The labels are non-fading, wrinkle-free, and weather-resistant. Their size is also ideally adapted to the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis and can be easily inserted into it. Postage within Germany is free of charge. Alternatively the designs can be printed out by customers themselves. When a free user account has been set up, it is possible to save the designs so that they can be printed out, edited, or ordered again at a later date.

All-metal rockers (stainless steel, aluminium, brass, bronze, or chrome) and full-surface plastic rockers are inscribed by laser. That can also be configured with ease online using a user account. A configuration number is assigned following completion of the design. The rockers, inscribed as desired, can then be simply ordered online with the Gira inscription service via the three-stage specialised sales process. End customers contact their electrical engineering firm with their configuration list. As an alternative, electrical trade specialists can use the "DesignPro™ Edition Gira" software (Gira Order No. 1423 00) from Avery Zweckform to design the inscription. Installation

The Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis is comprised of three components which are ordered separately and easily installed in three steps: bus coupler 3, pushbutton sensor 3 and a rocker set in various design versions. With this modular system, the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis offers more flexibility in electrical planning and installation, because the individual components can be mounted in different stages of a construction or renovation project and easily exchanged if necessary. The bus coupler 3 serves as the basis for all versions of the Gira pushbutton sensor 3 Basis. It is mounted in the wall and establishes the connection to the KNX bus line. The intelligence lies in the Gira pushbutton sensor 3.

It is equipped with a start-up rocker and connected to the bus coupler 3. The rocker set in the desired design is available separately and is simply attached to the pushbutton sensor 3. Exception: For the Gira F100, the pushbutton sensor 3 is delivered with the suitable rocker set included. The cover frame from the corresponding design line is fastened to the support ring of the bus coupler 3, together with the Gira pushbutton sensor 3.
