The Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer App allows all of the building technology to be conveniently operated while on the move using an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or any Android-based mobile devices. This allows KNX functions to be controlled while out and about or from any room in the home.

The multifunctional button can be combined with the large number of design lines in the Gira System 55, thereby making a uniform installation design possible. With two, four or six buttons for assignment, it can be used for easy control of a wide range of functions in the Smart Home.

Depending on the version used, up to eight individually definable functions can be established with one Gira pushbutton sensor 4. A large number of KNX applications can be controlled centrally at the mere touch of a button. Light and light scenes, blinds, room temperature, entertainment and much more.

A number of intelligent building technology functions can be controlled conveniently at the press of a button using the Gira pushbutton sensor 3. It is very flexible and adapts to the occupants’ needs: if the functions change, the button assignment can simply be reprogrammed.

The Gira KNX button is available in 1-gang or 2-gang versions with buttons or rockers. A large number of functions can be implemented in the application: Switching and dimming the light, scene control, raising and lowering blinds and much more. An integrated LED serves as an orientation tool at night.

Gira KNX motion detectors are used for the on-demand control of different functions depending on the movements of people. Accordingly, it sends a switching command to the KNX system and thereby triggers various individually preset actions.

The Gira Cube motion detector is available for conventional installation or KNX installation depending on requirements. A flexible installation concept allows both ceiling and wall mounting.

The battery-operated KNX RF pushbutton sensors can be placed as wireless wall transmitters wherever operating elements are required, regardless of the availability of power and bus cables: mounted to the wall with screws, with a corresponding support ring on a flush-mounted device box or conveniently by means of a support ring with adhesive strips on smooth surfaces such as glass panes.

KNX RF hand-held transmitters mean that you are in control wherever you are: The desired KNX function can be conveniently activated by remote control from any point in the building.

For convenient, wireless access to a KNX installation from your PC or laptop – for example, for addressing, programming or diagnostics via ETS 5: the KNX RF USB data interface in the form of a USB stick is a useful tool. Communication between the PC and KNX system is established via wireless signals.

The Gira KNX object controller automatically ensures constant room temperature. Because it doesn't have operating and display elements, it is ideal for applications where temperature control directly on the device is not necessary or not desired.

With a multitude of settings, the Gira KNX continuous controller is used for convenient and economical single-room temperature control via the Gira KNX system. To do this, it records the current room temperature using the installed controller with an internal and external temperature sensor and adapts it to the occupants’ specified setpoints.

Wind speed, precipitation, twilight and temperature can be measured and analysed with a KNX weather station Standard. In addition, three brightness sensors positioned at right angles to each other determine the brightness directionally. The sensors can analyse data individually or collectively.

The KNX RF/TP media coupler forms the link between a wired KNX TP installation and its wireless extension with KNX RF: It acts as a KNX area/line coupler for connecting the KNX RF components.

The Gira KNX button interfaces, 2-gang and 4-gang, serve to integrate conventional switches and buttons in the KNX. The button interfaces are installed in switch boxes, 60 mm depth, behind the switches or buttons and are connected both to the bus line and to the corresponding switch or button.

The Gira KNX switching actuators, 1-gang 16 A and 2-gang 6 A, are equipped with two binary inputs for installation in a switch box. Zero-voltage contacts can be connected to them. In the process, both inputs can be blocked independently of one another or perform different functions.

The Gira KNX universal dimming actuator 50–210 W/VA is used for switching and dimming lamps. It is equipped with two binary inputs for installation in the switch box. The Gira KNX window actuator combines a blind actuator with a heating actuator. It has three binary inputs which, in the default delivery state, enable control of the connected blind, roller shutter, awning or ventilation flap.

The compact Gira KNX 4-gang dimming actuator is used for switching and dimming many types of lamps and transformers, especially high-voltage LEDs. It is available in Standard and Komfort variants with a simplified DRA wiring concept for quick installation. A wide range of scene functions and logics can also be implemented without using a server.

The Gira KNX DALI Gateway Plus is the interface between the KNX installation in the building and a digital DALI lighting system. It enables switching of up to 64 lights in a maximum of 32 groups and the implementation of complex scenes and dynamic light effects via the KNX system. It also allows for a great deal of flexibility during the subsequent lighting configuration process.

The Gira KNX dimming actuators allow light bulbs, high-voltage LED and halogen lamps, and low-voltage LED and halogen lamps to be dimmed using the appropriate ballasts and transformers. The characteristics of the connected load can be automatically calibrated for each output channel separately, and the appropriate dimming method set. Alternatively, the dimming method can be permanently specified via the ETS parametrisation.

The KNX control unit 1–10 V is used for the switching and dimming of electronic fluorescent lamps with electronic ballasts with 1–10 V control input or other 1–10 V dimmable devices. The equipment includes relay manual actuation and the option of setting the basic brightness. The connection is multi-phase.

For each channel, up to four 230 V AC servos or up to two 24 V AC servos can be controlled via a switching regulating variable. The hardware and software of the Gira KNX heating actuator Basic concentrates on the essential functions, making it particularly economical. The DRA device is mounted on a top-hat rail.

Up to four 230 V AC servos or up to two 24 V AC servos can be controlled for each channel. Depending on the type of device and the programming, this is achieved by a switching regulating variable or by pulse width modulation (PWM).

Gira power boosters serve as power extensions of a universal, LV, and/or Tronic dimmer. All device variants have a bulb-saving soft start, integrated electronic short-circuit protection, and automatic excess-temperature protection, some with restart.

Gira KNX switching actuators with manual actuation and integrated bus coupler are available in the variants 2-gang, 4-gang, and 8-gang 16A. With the integrated manual switch, changing over the relay (On/Off) is possible in parallel or without KNX operation.

Gira KNX switching actuators with manual actuation and current measurement for C-loads are available in the variants 4-gang and 8-gang 16A. With the integrated manual switch, changing over the relay (On/Off) is possible in parallel or without KNX operation. The switching contacts of the device variants are especially designed for loads with a capacitive character, and brief, high switch-on currents caused thereby.

The Gira KNX room actuator controls electrical devices from a maximum of three different functions, for example lights, blinds and heating, within a single device. Corresponding configurations are used for the living room, office or hotel room. The room actuator’s four relay outputs can be set in pairs for blind operation or, alternatively, for switching operation in the ETS. Mixed operation is also possible.

The Gira KNX switching and blind actuators are available in Standard and Komfort variants as a switching actuator (max. 6-gang, 16-gang or 24-gang) or as a blind actuator (max. 3-gang, 8-gang or 12-gang). The spacious terminal compartment enables safe connection and quick wiring.

The Gira KNX shutter actuator, 4-gang 230 V, is used to control electronically operated roller shutters for the mains voltage of 230 V AC (4-channel). It has a button for manual actuation and an LED status display for each output. A bus coupling is integrated, and it is possible to connect various external conductors. It is mounted on a DIN top-hat rail.

Gira KNX blind actuators with manual actuation and integrated bus coupler are used to control electrically operated blinds, roller shutters, awnings, ventilation flaps, or similar hangings. In doing so, they are suitable for low voltages of 12 to 48 V DC or for a mains voltage of 230 V AC. A status display is integrated for each output. The DRA Plus actuators are mounted on a DIN top-hat rail.

The KNX heating actuator, 6-gang with controller is used to control heating and cooling circuits. The actuation of twelve independently operating room temperature controllers and six valve outlets is made energy efficient and convenient by pulse width modulation (PWM). Automatic valve protection keeps valves from getting jammed.

The fan coil actuator controls fan coil units used for the air conditioning of rooms. A distinction is made here between the two-tube and the four-tube version. Both systems are supported by the Gira fan coil actuator.

Gira offers a broad range of power supplies for a wide variety of applications. They are used to generate the KNX system voltage or supply power to individual components such as the rain sensor or the built-in heating of the wind sensor 0–10 V.

In combination with the Gira power supply 640 mA, the Gira rechargeable lead acid battery 12 Ah ensures uninterruptible buffering of the KNX system voltage. A maximum of two rechargeable lead acid batteries can be connected in parallel to the power supply. The rechargeable lead acid battery 12 Ah is maintenance-free due to its closed design.

The Gira KNX IP router v4 “Secure” is the interface between the network infrastructure of the building and the building automation. It consistently closes the security gap caused by weaknesses in the network infrastructure.

Increased security in smart buildings: As a KNX bridge, the Gira F1 guarantees and manages secure communication between self-contained KNX systems in one building. Private data is reliably protected from third-party access.

The area/line coupler connects two KNX lines to each other for data transfer and ensures electrical isolation between these lines. As a result, each bus line of a KNX installation can be electrically operated independently of the other lines.

The Gira KNX IP interface is used to connect a PC to KNX components for addressing, programming, and diagnostics within the system. Connection to the data network is via RJ45 pin jacks.

The Gira USB data interface with integrated bus coupler enables a PC to be connected to the KNX system for addressing, programming, and diagnosing KNX components. The data interface is available as a DRA or flush-mounted device and is supported by the ETS 4, ETS 5 or higher.
