System architecture of the IP door communication system

A system that connects.

All components – from the door station and home station to cameras, control systems and mobile end devices – are IP-based and linked via the network. The system is designed as a flexible modular system and can be managed centrally, easily expanded and adapted to specific projects. Award-winning design for outdoor and indoor use combines high-quality design with functional system logic – for solutions that deliver technical performance and architectural integrity.

  • Extra fast start-up with GPA.
  • Forwarding door calls to a smartphone: simple and fast setup by end users.
  • Configuration without advance investment – can be planned at your desk.
  • Does not require a server or licence.
  • End-to-end encryption as standard and CRA ready (meets the future requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act).
  • Sophisticated roles and authorisation design for start-up and system maintenance.
  • Remote maintenance and update capability via the Gira S1 for low-maintenance operation and future security.
  • Excellent audio technology with two microphones to suppress background noise.
  • Annual software updates.

The right solution for projects of any size.

IP door communication is designed for scalability, every step of the way. From the individual residential unit to the complex building or district solution, the system can be flexibly expanded and adapted to growing requirements – without having to replace the system.

  • Residential/rental units per system 1 to 1000
  • Clients per system 1 to 10,000
  • Door stations/buildings per system 1 to 50

  • IP switching actuators per system 1 to 200
  • Clients per residential/rental unit 1 to 10
  • External IP cameras per system 1 to 200

Configuration, mounting,
start-up

From configuration to start-up, the IP door communication system is designed for efficiency, every step of the way. Digital planning, sophisticated assembly solutions and structured commissioning processes allow for fast, clean and reliable implementation.

Configuration – efficiency from the get-go.

Projects can be fully and intuitively configured in the Gira Project Assistant (GPA) – without any advance investment. The integrated plausibility check and Excel imports for fast transfer of device lists and settings considerably simplify and speed up configuration.

  • Central configuration without devices on site allows planning to take place independent of construction progress.
  • Excel import, global settings and plausibility check in the GPA.
  • Configuration of large systems in under 30 minutes – from start of planning to final configuration.
  • Free from licensing and server requirements – no additional costs or dependencies.

Installation – integrated easily and cleanly.

During installation, the focus is on ensuring a high-quality appearance and efficient processes. The door stations of the Gira System 106 IP are installed on a standard flush-mounted box. This ensures elegant, flush integration and permanently protects the connections – ideal for new builds and retrofitting.

Find out more about installation

  • Concealed cable entry for a flush, clean look, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Use of the existing network infrastructure (CAT & PoE) – no special cabling required.
  • The use of RJ45 connectors makes it easy to create and document measurement reports.

Ready to operate faster than ever before.

The Gira Project Assistant (GPA) makes start-up simpler and faster than ever. The products are assigned securely and in encrypted form via the Gira device scanner, which can be used directly on a smartphone without the need to download an app or register. Once central configuration is complete, all project data and device settings are transferred from the laptop with a single click, and the system components start up automatically within a few minutes. This saves time, especially for larger projects, and also allows for flexible, section-by-section start-up – even without Internet access.

Start-up – ready for operation in minutes.

The start-up of the IP door communication system is designed to provide maximum time savings every step of the way. Pre-configured projects are transferred directly from the Gira Project Assistant (GPA), and global settings are applied centrally – even large systems can be ready for operation in just a few minutes. The effort required is significantly reduced when compared with conventional systems, as individual manual steps and repeated on-site adjustments are no longer required.

  • Efficient processes for extremely fast operational readiness.
  • Offline-compatible and can be
    operated in steps.
  • Project handover via password in the system – no need for the installer to come back on site.
  • Fast acceptance due to complete documentation export.

Security: Gira F1 and Gira S1

Reliably networked, securely protected.
The Gira F1 ensures maximum data security by reliably separating the building and private network and preventing unauthorised access. The Gira S1 provides encrypted remote maintenance and secure remote updates for s
