Senic MoodBlock for Light + Building 2024.

All the content stored on the MoodBlock can be accessed with a smartphone. To do this, the smartphone must be held up to the new Gira Light + Building MoodBlock. No app needs to be opened or other settings made beforehand. The phone recognises what is stored on the block and calls up this content automatically.

This works via an NFC sensor built into the smartphone that reads a small chip in each MoodBlock. Thanks to energy harvesting technology, no batteries are needed, so the blocks never need to be recharged.

The Gira Light + Building MoodBlock can be used with iPhone and Android devices. Please note that music cannot be played on Sonos speakers with the MoodBlock.

The Gira Innovations 2024 page is currently located on the MoodBlock. However, this can also be filled with your own content.

This is how it works:

1. The first step is to download the "NFC Tools" app. This allows you to save and update different data sets on the MoodBlock. Please ensure that NFC is activated on the smartphone beforehand.

2. When you open the app, various categories are displayed. In the category "Write", select the option "Add a record". There you can choose from categories such as text, URL or even applications.

3. In the next step, select the item "URL/URI" and enter the new URL in the field on the right that is to be displayed via the MoodBlock in the future.

4. After the URL has been confirmed, the option "Write" must be selected via the automatically called up start page.

5. To overwrite the content, the smartphone must be brought to the MoodBlock. Make sure that the MoodBlock touches the NFC antenna of the smartphone.

6. A message will appear in the app indicating that the overwrite was successful.

A prerequisite for playing out a Smart Home scene on the MoodBlock is the possession of a Gira X1 server and a configured scene in the Gira Smart Home app. The scene can be triggered conveniently with the MoodBlock. All that is required is to hold the mobile device up to the MoodBlock.

Saving a scene on a MoodBlock:

1. Open the Gira Smart Home app, navigate to the settings icon, and select “NFC tag”.

2. Select a scene and hold the NFC tag near the smartphone.

Playing a scene from a MoodBlock:

1. Hold the smartphone against the MoodBlock.

2. Depending on the smartphone and operating system, the Gira Smart Home app opens automatically and the scene is played directly.
