Gira Experience Center

Much more than just a showroom.

Any­one trav­el­ling on the A12 between Arnheim and Utrecht will see the Gira logo at Veen­endaal. The Dutch branch of the home auto­ma­tion spe­cial­ists from the Ber­gisches Land has been es­tab­lished for sev­eral months here in the north of this town of 65,000 in­hab­it­ants, today known as the Sil­icon Val­ley of the Neth­er­lands. At 600m2, the mod­ern three-​story build­ing houses of­fices, meet­ing rooms, a tech­nical hot­line for cus­tom­ers and state-​of-the-art train­ing fa­cil­it­ies. How­ever, the focal point of the site is the first Gira Ex­per­i­ence Cen­ter, which cov­ers the en­tire ground floor. Since the be­gin­ning of Septem­ber, the Cen­ter has been open to in­stallers, whole­salers and ar­chi­tects. Hans Flier and Jacob de Muijnck, the man­agers of Gira Neder­land BV, are agreed:
“Our Ex­per­i­ence Cen­ter is much more than just a stand­ard show­room”. In a model house with a liv­ing room, kit­chen, bath­room and bed­room, Gira demon­strates the pos­sib­il­it­ies for using in­nov­at­ive tech­no­lo­gies in build­ing con­trol.

Focus on an intelligent house

The focus is on solu­tions for in­ter­con­nec­ted net­works and se­cure liv­ing con­di­tions. “We want to let you ex­per­i­ence what it means to live in a smart house” ex­plains Hans Flier. Along with ac­tual product present­a­tion, ap­plic­a­tions ran­ging from ra­dio­graphic build­ing man­age­ment sys­tems in Smart Homes to com­pre­hens­ive solu­tions based on KNX tech­no­lo­gies in an in­tel­li­gent villa are demon­strated in a sep­ar­ate room. Here, vis­it­ors can use a large LED screen to vir­tu­ally try out and ex­per­i­ence how dif­fer­ent build­ing tech­no­logy func­tions op­er­ate with Gira sys­tems in prac­tice, and how pro­grammed scen­arios can be ac­tiv­ated.

Cus­tomer ad­vice plat­form

This live ex­per­i­ence of vari­ous Smart Home ap­plic­a­tions should provide a source of in­spir­a­tion for design­ing smart liv­ing. There­fore, whole­salers, elec­tri­cians and ar­chi­tects are also in­vited to visit the Gira Ex­per­i­ence Cen­ter with their cus­tom­ers or to use it for their own cus­tomer events. “We see it as part of the Gira ser­vice for our spe­cial­ised cus­tom­ers: mak­ing this unique plat­form avail­able to them so that they can in­spire end con­sumers with smart home solu­tions and make an im­pact in sales talks with ad­di­tional ad­vis­ory skills”, stresses Jacob de Muijnck. “We are there­fore look­ing for­ward to hav­ing lots of vis­it­ors!”
