Connects older mechanical front-door intercoms with Gira home stations.

Using the com­pact and weather-​proof Gira built-​in speaker, the home sta­tions from the Gira door com­mu­nic­a­tion sys­tem can be con­nec­ted to any mail­box units, in­ter­com com­part­ments, door-​side in­stall­a­tions or front plates already present in the build­ing.

The built-​in speaker acts as an ad­apter between the mech­an­ical call but­tons of the ex­ist­ing sys­tem and the Gira 2-​wire bus and en­ables all Gira home sta­tions to be con­trolled.

Function, features

The built-​in speaker is screwed in be­hind the speaker and mi­cro­phone cov­ers of the other man­u­fac­tur­ers’ sys­tems and can be con­nec­ted to up to eight mech­an­ical call but­tons via screw ter­min­als. Other mech­an­ical bell but­tons can be con­nec­ted via an op­tional add-​on mod­ule (see below).

When the call but­tons are pressed, the built-​in speaker emits an ac­know­ledge­ment sig­nal for con­firm­a­tion. The in­puts are scanned via al­tern­at­ing voltage. This pre­vents ox­id­a­tion at the but­ton con­tacts, thus en­abling trouble-​free long-​term op­er­a­tion. The con­nec­tion ter­min­als are se­cured against in­cor­rect con­nec­tion.

The built-​in speaker can be con­nec­ted to the Gira flush-​mounted door sta­tion’s col­our cam­era via a 2-​pole con­nec­tion cable. This is in­teg­rated into a cut-​out in the door-​side in­stall­a­tion, for ex­ample, or into the front plate of the ex­ist­ing sys­tem.

Speaker, microphone (basic function)

The hands-​free unit of the built-​in speaker is equipped with an voice-​operated switch. The mi­cro­phone is auto­mat­ic­ally ac­tiv­ated where the level is higher. If am­bi­ent noise at the front door is par­tic­u­larly high, the per­son at the home sta­tion can ac­tiv­ate the mi­cro­phone with an over­ride func­tion by press­ing a but­ton. The voice volume can be in­di­vidu­ally ad­jus­ted.

Add-on module

The add-​on mod­ule is re­quired when more than eight call but­tons from an­other man­u­fac­turer’s sys­tem are to be in­teg­rated into the Gira door com­mu­nic­a­tion sys­tem: It is in­stalled in the sys­tems’ in­ter­com com­part­ment in ad­di­tion to the built-​in speaker and provides con­nec­tions for 12 more call but­tons. The flat, min­imal design of the add-​on mod­ule en­sures that in­stall­a­tion is trouble-​free. The add-​on mod­ule can only be used in con­junc­tion with the built-​in speaker, and is con­nec­ted to this via a 6-​pole con­nec­tion cable. Up to two add-​on mod­ules can be con­nec­ted to the built-​in speaker in this way.
