Connects older mechanical front-door intercoms with Gira home stations.

Using the compact and weather-proof Gira built-in speaker, the home stations from the Gira door communication system can be connected to any mailbox units, intercom compartments, door-side installations or front plates already present in the building.

The built-in speaker acts as an adapter between the mechanical call buttons of the existing system and the Gira 2-wire bus and enables all Gira home stations to be controlled.

Function, features

The built-in speaker is screwed in behind the speaker and microphone covers of the other manufacturers’ systems and can be connected to up to eight mechanical call buttons via screw terminals. Other mechanical bell buttons can be connected via an optional add-on module (see below).

When the call buttons are pressed, the built-in speaker emits an acknowledgement signal for confirmation. The inputs are scanned via alternating voltage. This prevents oxidation at the button contacts, thus enabling trouble-free long-term operation. The connection terminals are secured against incorrect connection.

The built-in speaker can be connected to the Gira flush-mounted door station’s colour camera via a 2-pole connection cable. This is integrated into a cut-out in the door-side installation, for example, or into the front plate of the existing system.

Speaker, microphone (basic function)

The hands-free unit of the built-in speaker is equipped with an voice-operated switch. The microphone is automatically activated where the level is higher. If ambient noise at the front door is particularly high, the person at the home station can activate the microphone with an override function by pressing a button. The voice volume can be individually adjusted.

Add-on module

The add-on module is required when more than eight call buttons from another manufacturer’s system are to be integrated into the Gira door communication system: It is installed in the systems’ intercom compartment in addition to the built-in speaker and provides connections for 12 more call buttons. The flat, minimal design of the add-on module ensures that installation is trouble-free. The add-on module can only be used in conjunction with the built-in speaker, and is connected to this via a 6-pole connection cable. Up to two add-on modules can be connected to the built-in speaker in this way.
