Axis Communications offers a particularly wide and optimally tuned range of high quality network cameras, from robust outdoor cameras for harsh climates to discrete products for sensitive environments. The cameras expose a large number of functions, such as HDTV, Wide Dynamic Range, infrared and Lightfinder, to name a few which provide clear video frames also under difficult light conditions. Moreover, Axis cameras provide advanced video analytics features, like motion detection, audio detection and tampering alarm.

From now on, the ise smart app KNX Axis connects the KNX building control with the broad Axis IP product portfolio. Our application allows you to have a two-way communication between the KNX and the world of Axis. You can now take advantage of both systems.

Using the ise smart app KNX Axis, it is even possible for third-party applications running on the camera to be connected to the KNX system.

Features:

• 30 binary Group Objects to trigger via the KNX an Event-Trigger on the Axis IP product
• 30 Group Objects (variable length) to send values from the Axis IP product to the KNX
• Control video recording
• Trigger to send a message defined in the camera (e-mail, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS)
• Using PTZ cameras, it is possible to navigate to predefined positions via KNX
• Reading and sending camera configuration properties to the KNX
• Sending a value to the KNX if the camera’s live stream is accessed
• Supervision of the camera device, e.g. overheating or interruption of the connection to the storage location for videos
• Third Party applications may send values to the KNX

Usecases:

• Camera detects motion: The camera detects movements within an adjustable range, and sends an alert to the KNX.
• KNX detects motion: The KNX motion detector triggers on the camera the recording of a video if motion is detected.
• Outwit made difficult: A possible sabotage attempt, such as covering the camera or spraying it with paint, triggers an alarm on the KNX.
• Portraits of graffiti sprayers: Catch e.g. graffiti sprayer red-handed by monitoring specifically defined areas. If persons stay exceptionally long in these areas, an alarm is triggered and the location is illuminated for a perfect picture.
• KNX reports camera problems: If the camera has technical problems, these are signalled to the user via KNX.
