Weather control unit for KNX.

The KNX weather station reliably measures the temperature, precipitation, wind speed and brightness directly outside your front door. On the basis of these parameters, the building is able to automate and control individual functions depending on the weather. For example, this enables weather-based control of the blinds, shutters or lighting, protecting the shading control systems from damage and supporting energy-efficient building technology. With three integrated brightness sensors, the weather station allows you to individually control up to eight window façades in accordance with the respective compass direction.

  • Easy start-up using ETS
  • Communication with up to 20 weather control units possible in multi-storey buildings
  • High flexibility: ten universal channels for flexible evaluation of brightness values, wind speed, precipitation and temperature as well as the logical combination of several sensors.
  • Customised sun protection: eight sun protection channels enable customised and automated shading of up to eight façades.
  • The precipitation sensor is equipped with a heating system which activates automatically upon detecting moisture in the air (reliable detection of even light precipitation; frost does not impair sensor measurement)
  • Day-to-night switching to adjust certain switches individually depending on day or night-time operation (e.g. for lighting)
  • KNX Secure Standard

Robust design to withstand wind and weather.

The Gira weather station consists of a weather sensor, weather control unit (DRA) and a mast mounting. The positioning of the sensors in the weather station has been carefully thought out. For example, the temperature sensor is positioned such that it will not be influenced by the precipitation sensor's heating system. The wind wheel on the underside records the wind irrespective of wind direction and measures wind speed even in icy and snowy weather. The capacitive precipitation sensor is resistant to dirt and reliably records precipitation. The transparent housing fits perfectly into the overall look of any house front of wood, concrete or Eternit and matches any colour design.

  • Made of robust, UV-resistant plastic that is impervious to heat, cold and sunlight
  • Power supply 21–32 V DC SELV
  • Reduced fire load: no additional cables required for power supply (230 V)
  • Long service life
