Gira Keyless In Fingerprint is based upon a biometric system and uses what is probably the oldest means of identification: the fingerprint. Fingerprints are absolutely unique, and this makes them unbeatable as an entry code when paired with the latest biometric identification process. Gira is using high-frequency technology here – currently one of the most secure methods in the market for keyless entry to a building.

High-frequency technology

Gira Keyless In Fingerprint provides access control based on the unique biometric features of the human finger. The device uses a new type of fingerprint sensor. Using high-frequency technology, it analyses the structures of the deepest layers of skin of the finger used. It thus has a high level of security against tampering and works even where there is slight soiling or injuries to the finger or gradual changes to the skin's structure due to ageing. Gira Keyless In Fingerprint even identifies children's fingerprints from approximately six years and upwards. When the finger grows and changes, the system learns and repeatedly re-saves the data.

Areas of application

Main applications are the opening of doors both indoors and outdoors for 1 to 6-family homes as well as in smaller, commercially used buildings. In addition, applications such as garage door control, turnstile control, barrier control as well as the control of motorised cylinder locks for front doors can all be realised.

Self-learning system

Gira Keyless In Fingerprint is a self-learning system which merges all detected parts of a finger one after another to form a complete image. Fingers at an angle are also recognised up to a maximum of 15° from the zero axis.

Detection of signs of life

Another advantage: due to the high frequency conductivity process, Gira Keyless In Fingerprint recognises whether a finger is 'alive'. Therefore the system cannot be outwitted by silicone fingerprints or even a cut-off finger.

Increased security

A warning tone or, in connection with the Gira door communication system, a tampering circuit is triggered when the Fingerprint top unit is removed without authorisation.

LED display

For easier orientation at night, the scanner surface is evenly illuminated with a white LED. A three-colour LED display signals the respective status when programming and during operation. In addition, an acknowledgement buzzer sounds. This buzzer can be switched off if desired.


The contact surface for the finger is tilted upwards by about 20°, which provides a convenient angle for the reading process while standing.

2-way momentary contact relay

The two integrated 2-way momentary contact relays can each be assigned to two different fingers. This makes it possible to carry out different switching processes with two fingers, e.g. index fingers for opening doors and thumbs for switching the outside light on or off.

System integration

Gira Keyless In products can be integrated into the Gira door communication system. The Fingerprint, Keypad and Transponder can be integrated into the Gira design line both outdoors and indoors and are available for Standard 55, E2, Event, Esprit, E22 and TX_44. With the help of a 55 x 55 mm adapter frame, the Keyless In products can also be integrated into the new F100 product range and the stainless steel Series 20 and 21.

System bus

Communication during operation with the Gira door communication system occurs via the internal system bus. A 6-pole JST plug connection, like that of the door communication bus coupler, is provided for this purpose.

Power supply for Gira 2-wire bus operation

via the audio control device 1287 00, the video control device 1288 00 or the door communication power supply 1296 00.

2 power supply connections 24 V DC ± 10%

for power supply to the Fingerprint module via the door communication power supply 1296 00, if this is not directly supplied from the 2-wire bus (Fingerprint module dependent upon the system size). Polarity reversal protection is provided.
