The technologies and protocols used in the building automation show different, system–specific advantages. By managing to integrate those various systems into one comprehensive solution, the comfort for the user is highly enlarged.

The NETx BMS Server is a reliable, scalable solution which was developed with this target. In the actual version, it also offers an interface to Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer.

The NETx BMS Server allows the integration of different technologies and protocols (KNX, BACnet, Modbus and SNMP) and offers interfaces to hotel management- (MICROS Fidelio/Opera) and access control systems (VingCard). As the NETx BMS Server acts as a kind of gateway, information out of the these systems can be exchanged easily. Thanks to the modular structure of the NETx BMS Server, existing interfaces can be enhanced or new ones can be added.

Using the Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer interface, the specific advantages of the NETx BMS Server can also be used by Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer users. KNX objects as well as internal communication objects can be exported from Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer Expert and imported into the NETx BMS Server. Afterwards, all data points are shown in the “Item Tree” of the NETx BMS Server. As several Gira HomeServer/FacilityServers can be integrated into one NETx BMS Server, this solution is also suitable for large projects.

A multitude of use cases for interconnecting the NETx BMS Server and the Gira Home Server/Facility Server can be found. Typical examples are the exchange of data between BACnet devices and Gira HomeServer/FacilityServer as well as the integration of foreign OPC servers.
