Isala Clinic in Zwolle

The "Isala" in Zwolle is currently the largest general clinic in the Netherlands. The structures of the new construction, which opened in August 2013, are reminiscent of joined butterflies with playful colours and shapes. This design deliberately reduces the perceived size of the enormous complex. After all, 47,000 people are cared for here every year and 2,000 caregivers work on site.

In spring 2014, the first in-patient hospice in the county of Esslingen was inaugurated. Architect Jens Könekamp achieved an excellent balance between old and new: the new building is located directly beside the former rectory, which dates back to 1824.

The building already seems friendly from the outside. Even external visitors should be pleased to come visit. Large common rooms on each floor complete with an eat-in kitchen and television corner invite residents to live together as a community. Approximately 80 beds are available in single and double rooms distributed over three floors.

Dannenberg home for the elderly

With its tended homes, Dannenberg has a beautiful landscape on the Elbe River. The German Red Cross "Jeetzelgarten" senior and care facility was built here close to the city. The building was designed and built by the architecture firm ahrens architekten from Brunswick. The common living concept enables residents at all care levels to enjoy pleasant living together depending on their preferences.

Residential community of the Association for the Physically Disabled in Stuttgart (KBV Stuttgart e.V.)

"The young men ages 27-41 live together in their first own homes and lead independent lives," reported Benedikt Bädker, Area Director of the Association for the Physically Disabled in Stuttgart (KBV). They are supported as necessary by qualified care personnel. The KBV rented the attic flat from Nestwerk, a non-profit foundation.
